Bathymetric lidar is a critical capability in the realm of Defense and Security ISR. Since the early 1980s Teledyne Optech has led the world in the application of lidar for bathymetric mapping. Our latest system, Teledyne Optech CZMIL, is an innovative airborne coastal zone mapping system that produces simultaneous high-resolution 3D data and imagery of littoral zones, including shallow water seafloor and coastal topography. The CZMIL platform is an integrated system that includes lidar, visible, and hyperspectral sensors. Workflow is handled by Teledyne Optech HydroFusion—a powerful end-to-end software suite that incorporates mission planning, data collection, data fusion, and analysis of lidar and imagery data sets.
Maritime agencies and port and harbor authorities need to locate underwater objects, while waterways must remain free of obstacles to navigation. The Teledyne Optech CZMIL bathymetric system detects objects within the water volume and on the seafloor down to depths of 50 m. Outflow pipes, navigation hazards, sunken vessels and other objects have been located and mapped by rugged Optech products for more than 25 years. Teledyne Optech systems deliver simultaneous high-density topo/bathy data from lidar, hyperspectral and RGB camera across the land/water interface.
